eSIM active but no internet? The 7-step fix, in order
Work top to bottom — the list is ordered by how often each step is the fix.
An installed eSIM that won't pass data is almost never broken — it's almost always one of two switches: data roaming off for the travel line, or the eSIM not selected as the data line. Those are steps 1 and 2. The other five catch the rest. Work in order; each step takes under a minute.

The checklist

Turn data roaming ON — for the eSIM line specifically
Travel eSIMs are roaming profiles, so this switch is not optional. iPhone: Settings → Cellular → your travel line → Data Roaming. Android: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks (per-SIM). This alone fixes the majority of cases.

Make the eSIM your mobile-data line
The line can be on while your home SIM still carries data. iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → select the travel line. Android: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Mobile data.

Confirm you're inside the plan's coverage
Check the plan page's country list — a Europe plan doesn't cover a Turkish layover, and regional families differ. If you're outside the list, no setting will fix it.

Select a network manually
Auto-selection occasionally camps on a partner the plan doesn't use. Turn off automatic network selection and try the available operators one by one — wait ~30 seconds on each.

Toggle airplane mode, then restart
Airplane mode off/on forces a fresh network attach; a full restart clears deeper radio state. Unglamorous, disproportionately effective.

Check the APN only if the profile asks for it
Most profiles configure APN automatically. If your plan's install notes specify one, verify it matches exactly — one typo means no data.

Still nothing? Check your balance, then chat
Confirm on My eSIM (email or tracking code) that the plan has data and validity remaining. If it does and steps 1–6 fail, open the 24/7 chat — if the fault is on our side, we fix it or refund you.
FAQ
My eSIM is installed and shows signal bars, but no internet — why?
Ninety percent of the time: data roaming is off for that line, or the eSIM isn't selected as the data line. Travel eSIMs are roaming profiles — roaming ON is required, and it only applies to the travel line, not your home SIM.
Will turning on data roaming cost me extra?
Not on the eSIM — roaming is how travel eSIMs work, prepaid at the price you already paid. Your home SIM's roaming is a separate switch; leave that one off if you're worried about home-carrier charges.
It worked yesterday and stopped today — what changed?
Check remaining data and validity first (My eSIM shows both, by email or tracking code). If the plan's healthy, you've probably moved onto a weak partner network — manual network selection (step 4) usually restores it.
Does WhatsApp not working mean the eSIM is broken?
If browsing works but one app doesn't, that's the app or local network policy, not the eSIM. In some countries internet-calling is restricted on local networks; roaming eSIMs often behave better, but app-level issues aren't a data-connection fault.
I deleted the eSIM by mistake — can I reinstall it?
Retrieve your QR any time on the My eSIM page with your email or tracking code and install it again. Reinstalling the same profile on the same device is generally fine while the plan is valid.
